Managed to get a table for 4 on a busy Friday the day before the highland games. Staff were lovely. We ordered our drinks and meals 2 drinks to be served with the meals and a beer coke and water straight away. Beer and coke came but no water, then food came but no 2 drinks. We had to go up mid meal to ask about drinks which came once one of the meals was finished bar a chip. A little annoying although the food was lovely. Seemed to me the bar staff were consumed with making fancy cocktails leaving no time to serve properly. Given that I would return here tomorrow. Cracking place with awsome views.

Had a lovely gluten free fish and chips for lunch in The Douglas. Great service, fresh and delicious food with fantastic views from the bar restaurant. The hotel is right next to the ferry terminal, so handy if you are looking for somewhere to eat as you arrive or leave the island. Plenty of outdoor seating too for a sunny day.

Really good food here, we went in bar as we had our dog with us, very dog friendly here. Great service overall very friendly staff. Receptionist led me to lounge so I could breastfeed my son in private which I really appreciate. Would definitely recommend coming here. Not quite enough parking on site but there’s plenty along the shore front.

Had our wedding breakfast here. The team were delightful and super friendly, even with a couple of hectic toddlers in the space. They sat us in a snug alcove to enjoy the lunch and service was faultless from beginning to end. Food was banging too! Really made a special day that much more lovely, thank you again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Douglas Hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and roomy. The food was great and the staff were very pleasant and attentive. The girl is ideally placed for access to the ferry terminal and for exploration of the rest of the island.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Douglas. A beautiful hotel in a stunning location, the rooms very spacious and comfy. We were made to feel completely at home, as was our dog Lizzie who had a wonderful time being fussed over. The food was incredible and we didn't feel the need to eat out of the hotel our entire stay. Thank you, we will definitely be returning!

14 of us of mixed ages who are lifelong lovers of Arran. My 85yr dad is a knickerbocker glory connoisseur and the staff arranged an ‘off menu’ special for him which he gave a top rating . The same can be said for all the food and the outstanding welcome and service from staff. We’ve visited many times before and hopefully many more visits to come. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This hotel is lovely and is very central to the island and seconds from ferry terminal. Staff were all extremely courteous and helpful. Rooms clean along with all linen and towels. We were in a handicapped accessible room and the bathroom was enormous with many bars to assist one getting in and out of a bath however, if one is unable to access a bath, there is no shower stall. The food / meals were extremely good and the drinks were varied. Wonderful too how they really do support local for both drink and meals.

My friends and I recently visited for meals and drinks at The Douglas Hotel and what a beautiful hotel, all staff very friendly and welcoming. There was a member of staff who stood out… Kate, Kate went above and beyond her role of duties. Kate was so helpful when we needed it and we were very much grateful for everything. Definitely will be back and highly recommend this hotel for all occasions. Ideally 5 min walk from the terminal which I a bonus for getting off and they waiting to dock again.
